A Sense of...
Responsibility
Sustainability - We're conscious about re-treating, re-cycling and reuse our thoughts and knowledge-base, people and products in all our projects.
Transport
- 80% of our commuting mileage is by public transport, cycle, or walking
- We use public transport to get to most meetings, projects
- When we do need cars, we use them collectively, (car-pooling)
- No air-conditions in cars until someone makes a good reason for its use.
Energy
- Our electricity bills shows our consumption patters. We Save Energy by using it effectively
- We're totally IN for renewable energy resources. Our projects will show that
- If it is too hot in the summer, we eat ice cream and drink Nimbu-pani a lot
Any excuse for ice cream.
Waste and Recycling
- We recycle everything we can: paper, plastics, clothes, and jokes too.
- For a family of 5+ people we produce a mere two bags of waste a week
- We don't replace stuff just because it is old - and when we do, we give the old stuff to needy families.
- We use handmade products, where possible. Our next project is to recycle old clothes and waste paper to produce useful articles / bags.
- All our stationery and organisation literature is printed on 100% recycled paper/handmade papers.
Old stuff goes to charity.
Community and Charity
- Our members have organised and participated in various community cleaning events/ Awareness programmes.
- We do a load of free online work for social and spiritual organisations.
- We're starting a Community Learning Centre and Care Home with Abhyuday, as our partner in Bhatti mines area, near Chatterpur Mandir, Delhi supporting three local families (widows with 2/3 child per family) and at-risk girls to learn Cutting Tailoring and Embrodery skills
We'll treat you to a amazing cup of coffee or tea when you call in too!
